Position Overview

The Team Leader - Mover will provide a best in class customer service experience to Senior Citizens who will be moving from their homes to independent or assisted living by the handling their possessions. This position will lead the move crews and is a unique opportunity for those looking to combine general labor with customer service.

Primary Functions & Responsibilities

  • Develop, motivate and train staff providing a working environment allowing personal and professional growth
  • Direct and supervise the staff on the job
  • Manage the staff timesheets, check-in and checkout of a job and reporting hours to the Office Manager
  • Monitor and ensure professional appearance and behavior of the staff
  • Manage the cleanliness of a job site to ensure customer and employee safety
  • Loads and unloads furniture and related materials onto and off trucks, ensuring that appropriate padding and materials are used to prevent damage
  • Locates and relocates furniture and household goods
  • Perform initial walk through with client at the start of a job and identify and communicate special requirements or needs (if Team Lead Packer is not present)
  • Main contact with the client during the job duration
  • Perform end of day wrap up with staff and client
  • Coordinate with the Team Leader – Packer for job arrival time and requirements
  • Prepare invoice and collect payment from customer

  • Manage customer expectations
  • Communicate professionally in English, both verbally and in writing; comfortably interface with customer
  • Accountable for handling client property safely and efficiently
  • Inspect all furniture and customer belongings for any damages
  • Make inventories and records of the furniture and customer belongings.
  • Make inventories of material and supplies consumed on each job.
  • Perform routine verbal and written instructions; understand & follow specific procedures
  • Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift up to 200 lbs. with help of a lifting partner multiple times per day, perform repetitive bending and twisting motions, push/pull and lift at or above chest level, climb in and out trucks and move mattresses up and down staircase
